SanoMed Manufacturing BV, established in August 2006, embarked on a research and development journey in the field of wound healing. Prior to its inception, the founders conducted extensive studies in vitro, in vivo, and through literature reviews to explore the properties of honey. These endeavors culminated in the publication of numerous research findings worldwide.
The research and publications laid the foundation for the company’s unique and patented products. In 2007, the CE marking was successfully obtained for these products. Currently, SanoMed Manufacturing BV has established distributors in ten European countries, 7 countries in Asia, and the Middle East. Melladerm® Plus, the second-generation honey-based product, has gained significant traction and is rapidly replacing older honey-based products. The company’s wound care products are branded under the SanoSkin® name.
In parallel, SanoMed Manufacturing BV has established a production and marketing hub in Asia. More specifically, Sanomedical Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd. has been established in Sabah, Malaysia, and is ISO 13485: 2016 certified to design and manufacture medical devices. Notably, in the first quarter of 2026, an ISO 22716 certification for cosmetics production in Asia will be obtained.
New wound care products, including a Melladerm Plus Tulle (impregnated PE carrier) and a wound cleanser (spray bottle), are being developed and registered under the Medical Device Directive (MDD) for Asia.
We are collaborating closely with knowledge centers in Europe and Asia, such as medical and veterinary university faculties and wound care clinics, to assist in the future development of medical devices.
